Swaraangan school for Hindustani music is a non-profit organisation founded in 2012 in Chennai by Guru Lalita Sharma, a senior disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt Jasraj. It is an organisation aimed at promoting Hindustani classical music and arts. At Swaraangan, the Mewati Gharana thrives and emphasizes sur, diction and voice quality. Lalita Sharma conducts classes in Hindustani classical and bhajans.

 

Aims and Objectives:

  • To be the premier Hindustani classical music institute in Chennai that educates students for musical and professional enhancement.

  • To propagate Hindustani Vocal music of the Mewati Gharana.

  • To also promote all forms of music, dance, and other art forms.

  • To promote creativity and innovation and help students perceive the aesthetic nuances of music. A sense of deep appreciation paves the way to mental peace and contentment.

  • To revive the Guru Shishya Parampara and nurture students of all ages, races, religions, and nationalities.

  • To bring music to underprivileged children as a medium to bring harmony in their lives and tap their musical potential.
